(ANSO) The ongoing military operation 'Jadid' in Dahana-I-Ghuri District is continuing into its second month, the main objective being to ensure the security along the Pul-e Khumri - Mazar-e Sharif main road. Activities within the operational area have decreased with no significant clashes reported in the past two weeks. The single notable event occured on 2nd of January during an ANSF search operation, when four suspected AOG members were detained in Dand-e Ghori and Naqellen Areas. As some of ANA units have already withdrawn from the area, the operation will most likely concentrate on the 'hold' phase, including the establishing of additional check points.
